Meet Bonnie

A whole-student approach grounded in school counseling, ADHD coaching, and firsthand understanding.

Bonnie Dismore, founder of Common Space Coaching in Parker, Colorado

Hello! I’m Bonnie Dismore.

I hold a Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.), am a licensed school counselor in Colorado, and am a certified ADHD coach. I have spent my career supporting students as they navigate the academic, social, emotional, and executive-function demands of school, and helping them recognize that struggling with those demands does not mean they are lazy, unmotivated, or incapable.

This work is personal to me, too. I have ADHD, and I know what it is like to understand what you are supposed to do while still struggling to organize, begin, or follow through. Looking back, I would have benefited enormously from someone who could help me slow down, understand how my brain worked, and develop strategies without judgment or shame. I created Common Space Coaching to offer students that kind of support.

Guiding philosophy

What I believe about students

  • Students do well when they have the skills, support, and environment they need—not simply when they are told to try harder.
  • Connection and trust make honest problem-solving possible.
  • A strategy is only useful if the student can actually use it in real life.
  • Neurodivergence is not a character flaw or a problem to erase.
  • Parents are valuable partners, but students need voice and ownership in their own growth.
  • Small, meaningful progress deserves to be noticed.
  • The goal of support is not dependence on coaching; it is greater self-understanding and independence over time.

Life outside coaching

Family, mountains, books, and a quiet cup of coffee

I live in Parker, Colorado, with my husband and our two young boys. Our family life gives me plenty of firsthand experience with busy schedules, big feelings, forgotten water bottles, and the daily adventure of helping young people become more independent.

When I’m not coaching, I enjoy spending time in the mountains, reading, being outside with my family, and finding a quiet cup of coffee whenever the universe allows it.

I meet with students virtually or in person at my Parker office, offering children, teens, and college students a warm, individualized place to understand what is getting in their way, build practical strategies, and grow more confident in school and life.

The name behind the practice

What Common Space means

The name Common Space represents a place where the different parts of a student’s life can come together: school and home, practical skills and emotions, support and independence, challenges and strengths. It is a space outside the pressure and pace of the school day where students can feel understood, talk honestly about what is difficult, and practice tools that work for their individual brains and lives.

My school counseling background has taught me that academic, social, emotional, and executive-function needs rarely exist in isolation. A missing assignment may be connected to anxiety, perfectionism, time blindness, or difficulty getting started. A friendship problem can affect confidence, concentration, and a student’s willingness to go to school. Coaching allows us to look at the whole picture and turn broad goals into practical, age-appropriate skills students can use in real life.
